The Limited Edition MIL-SHIPS-W-2181, a brand-new addition to the Archive Series that will only be produced in quantities of 1,000, is based on a prototype that was never released on the market, giving watch collectors the first chance to purchase this pricey timepiece in 2021. A wristwatch created for the U.S. Navy served as inspiration for the sport watch, which features a special paper strip on the dial that shows whether moisture has entered the watch and changes color if the water resistance (up to 200 meters) ever starts to fail. The top ring of this watch only rotates when it is pressed down, which is another unusual characteristic. A stainless steel case with a black matte dial is attached to a black NATO strap made of finely woven nylon material that can survive prolonged exposure to water.
